OH BOY!

I can 100% say that I epically failed at Bout-of-Books! It has been a crazy month and I was even 3 books shy of my monthly goal! AH!

Oh well, failure is a part of life. Deep breath, and deal! OVER IT! Ha!

Sorry it's been so long since an update. I am currently in the process of packing all of my belongings because I am moving to a new apartment at the beginning of October! ANNNNNNDDD If I do not start packing now, I will procrastinate.

Also, I fell in a window well.....it was pretty awesome! However, no matter how many times you call for Lassie, she doesn't come. Guess your name has to be Timmy.....

Surprisingly enough, I did not break anything, but I did get this fabulous bruise!

It's a rainbow!

Alright! Moving on! It is pretty much the end of August! I know, I can't believe it either!

I did get a decent amount of books read this month!

Shatter Me- by Taherah Mafi
Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth- Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian- Rick Riordan
Me & Earl & the Dying Girl- Jesses Andrews
Saga Vol. 1- Brian K. Vaughn (Started watching "Under the Dome" & Mr. Vaughn works on the show)
Gris Grimly's Frankenstein
If I Stay- Gayle Foreman (annnndd our movie theater didn't even get the movie! So mad!)
Ready Player One- Ernest Cline
Bloodlines- Richelle Mead (Check out my channel! I did a read-a-long with this one!)
The Night Circus- Erin Morgenstern

Ten books! That's not bad! Right? I was hoping to get more! Beginning in September I have a few books that I've been asked by authors to review! YAY! So keep an eye out for those reviews!

Well that's all for now! I'll be posting my September TBR soon!

Until next time Bookaholics!

How I Read Multiple Books at a Time

Hey Bookaholics!

So recently I've been powering through 5 books at one time and I've had some people ask me how I manage it!

It's simple really! First & most important for me is to choose books that don't really have anything in common. So it doesn't get confusing!

I'm currently reading:

  • Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
  • The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
  • Ready, Player One by Ernest Cline
  • Me & Earl & the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews
  • Percy Jackson & the Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
Not much in common between these books!

After selecting my books, I calculate how much I want to read a day. I can normally get in about 300 pages a day. I also take into consideration how much I want to get accomplished in a particular book, for example, if I want to get a particular page count or section done for a read-a-long!

So I'm reading about 25-30 pages for the first three books, they are for read-a-longs. And I split up the remaining page count between the final two books!

Once I've determined how many pages per book per day to read I mark them with bright colorful sticky notes! Then read to those pages and switch books! It definitely keeps things from getting boring!

It's as simple as that (though as I read through this it seems more complicated than it actually is!).  Thanks for reading! If there is something you would like to see here or on my BookTube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWn5OuUtfX7pS0coG2K7-tg ) please don't be afraid to let me know!

Until next time bookaholics!

Hey Bookaholics!

I'm back again! This time to announce that I will be participating in Bout-of-Books 11.0! Woo!

What is Bout-of-Books you ask?

"The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team"

I'm super excited here! I participated in the BookTube-A-Thon last month and had a blast! So I'm really happy to have the opportunity to participate in yet another read-a-thon!

My Goals

I'm reading A LOT of books this month between just my regular TBR & the read-a-long's I'm doing it's a lengthy list!

Each day I want to read the allotted 20-50 pages in:

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - Booksplosion book of the month
Ready, Player One by Ernest Cline - Little Book Club book of the month
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead - Read-A-Long with Temecka Evans

I'm reading each of these books for a different read-a-long and have a specific number of pages I would like to get through in each of them each week this month.

Books I Would Like to Finish During the Bout-of-Books 11.0

Saga Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughn & Fiona Staples
Gris Grimley's Frankenstein
Landline by Rainbow Rowell

Wish me luck!

Hello Bookaholics!

I just wanted to create a post welcoming you to my NEW BLOG! I will be updating you on the books I'm reading, videos I'll be creating for my booktube channel, posting book reviews and just my general thoughts on life itself!

My name is Tressa and I'm a 23 year old bookaholic who sometimes performs MRI 's on people. I have two associate degrees and one bachelor degree. I'm an avid reader, and have been since an early age, however I was forced to take a hiatus while in college (it's a time suck). Now that I am working in my field and living in a small town with not much to do I am able to pick back up and begin reading like a maniac!

I enjoy many other things besides reading though, I'm not a total recluse!

I am a huge movie buff. My movie collection rivals my book collection, they take up the majority of my living space. I LOVE music. I love to sing, and am currently teaching myself piano & guitar! I also enjoy watching sports & golfing.

Wow that's a lot of rambling! SORRY! Hope ya'll are still with me.

I have started to receive books from authors wanting reviews! Which is spectacular! I created this blog so that I would be able to complete a review here quicker than a video review, which I still plan on doing!

I love almost every genre of book. But lately I've been reading A LOT of YA (contemporary, dystopian, fantasy, etc) and New Adult novels, with a few middle grade books thrown in the mix!

I'll leave you with that for now! Check out my BookTube channel on YouTube!

Until next time bookaholics,
